Vietnam state geologists extend mineral inventory

The Vietnam Geology and Minerals Department has reported discoveries of more than 5,000 deposits and occurrences, containing 60 different types of minerals. These include bauxite reserves of  "10 billion tonnes, rare earth at more than 9 million tonnes and titan at over 500 million tonnes."

The department will also implement projects on uranium exploration in Pa Lua-Pa Rong in Nam Giang district, Quang Nam province in the central region, coal reserve survey in the northern region and bauxite resource survey in the southern region, VOV reported.
